Hello adventurers!
We survived another month of 2025, only 10 more to go.
Minus my quick trip north to Vancouver for MLK weekend, and an overnight in Bellingham for work, this is the longest I've been home since... 2023 (maybe longer?). But with a large trip ahead, I spent most of my winter at home in Seattle, blogging and working on projects around my apartment.
Where in the world is Carli San Diego?
I'm coming to you from a cruise to... ANTARCTICA! This journey marks my 6th and 7th continents. I flew to Argentina last week and spent the weekend exploring Buenos Aires. Then I flew another 3 hours to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, also referred to as El Fin Del Mundo (the end of the world).
This is is the longest trip in the making for many reasons. I booked this 10 months ago last April. I knew I wanted to do something special for my upcoming (milestone) birthday, and what's more monumental than visiting Antarctica? The biggest hurdle, is not only getting to South America, or even the very high cost of the trip. It's the Drake Passage, known as the worst water passage. And for someone with major seasickness, this is an extra leap of faith. But I'm staying hopeful that with my prescription meds, it will be worth the journey.
Stay tuned next month for more updates on the cruise! π³οΈ π§ π π¦πΆ
Travel Lessons Learned
When traveling around the world it is important to make sure you have the right power adaptors, and it can not only be a pain to realize you don't have the correct adaptor it can also be expensive!
In Switzerland, I realized the adaptor I bought at Best Buy was for European outlets to plug into American outlets. Not helpful in the slightest. $35 later I was able to get the correct adaptor to use in Europe.
Prior to flying to Argentina, I saw they have the angled style plug (like in Australia and Asia) or the round 2 prong plug. The cruise ship said it would accommodate either. So I brought my European plug and surprise surprise, their round prongs are smaller than the European style ones, so my adaptor was useless. Thankfully, I was able to find a small adaptor at a hardware store around the corner from my hotel for just $3.
Always double check you have the right adaptor before you travel to save yourself the time, headache and extra cost.
Big News! I'm now officially a travel advisor
I am taking my love of travel and travel planning to the next level. Recently, I've joined with World Via Travel Network, a Travel Leader's Network Associate, to become an independent agent.
What does that mean?
I have access to hundreds of travel suppliers from airlines to hotels, cruises to tours, transfers to rentals. I can assist you with booking and planning any portion of your next travel adventure.
If you have summer travel plans, now is the time to start looking (and booking). Maybe you need a last minute spring break getaway. Or you've got a bucket list trip you need help with.

Waterproof Sneakers
Back in December I purchased my first pair of Vessi sneakers. So far they've been great, especially since it rained almost a week of my trip to OZ. In January I bought a second pair on my last trip up to Vancouver.
